What is myofascial release?

It’s easy to mix up with a facial, but myofascial release is gentle, sustained bodywork for the fascia. Here’s what it is and what a session is like.

A quick note, because it’s easy to mix up: myofascial release is not a facial or a skincare treatment. It’s gentle, sustained bodywork for the fascia.

Fascia is the continuous web of connective tissue that wraps every muscle and organ in your body. It can hold patterns of tension that shape how you feel and move every day.

In a session, I use slow, sustained pressure and give the restrictions time to unwind. It’s deep, quiet work. As layers of holding let go, many people find their movement feels freer and they settle back into a natural sense of ease.

The myofascial release work I offer carries the lineage of John Barnes, my mentor and the teacher who shaped this approach for so many of us. I’m deeply grateful to him and honored to carry this work forward.

Myofascial release can be a session of its own or part of a customized massage. Sessions are 60 minutes ($150) or 90 minutes ($200).

With love,

Kyra

Meet Ruby and Georgia

If you come out to the farm for equine coaching, you’ll spend time with my horses, Ruby and Georgia. Here’s a little about them and how we work together.

If you come out to the farm for equine coaching, you’ll spend time with my horses, Ruby and Georgia.

Horses are amazing creatures. Strong, beautiful and filled with curiosity. Because they are prey animals, they’re always aware of what’s around them, and they can sense your true nature behind the mask in a way that may astound you.

We start by getting to know the horses with gentle, mindful grooming. Then we meet in the round pen, where you’ll learn to communicate with the horse through your body’s stance and movement. The horse gives honest feedback about where you are in your life and how you can move beyond lifelong patterns you may not even be aware of.

You don’t need any riding or horse experience. Sessions are $200 per person, and you’re welcome to bring up to three friends.

It’s an experience you will never forget.

With love,

Kyra
